FIAM (Forum for Indigenous Agricultural Movement), based in Hatia, Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur, started in 2009-10 through natural cultivation and conservation of native paddy.

Our mission

  1. To bring back the traditional farming system
  2. Preserve the thousands of lost or lost seed varieties
  3. Popularize organic farming and non-toxic food to many people
  4. and above all bring back the sustainable agricultural system as an alternative to technology or so-called green revolution agricultural management that agricultural system, farmers will use indigenous seed diversity and agricultural knowledge to build non-toxic life management and maintain the fertility of agricultural land while maintaining nutritional and health security of the family and at the same time build a healthy rural economy.

We are deeply involved in the conservation and organic farming process of indigenous seed diversity in West Bengal for the last decade and by encouraging thousands of farmers to adopt organic farming, they are arranging market linkages for marketing their produce.


At a time when petrochemical-dependent agricultural systems are engulfing the entire agroecosystem, FIAM is working to popularize traditional agricultural knowledge and agricultural techniques to farmers in a new format.


FIAM based in Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur, WB was founded in started in 2009. Our mission is to bring back the traditional farming system, preserve the thousands of indigenous seed varieties, popularize organic farming and empowerment of farmers and rural livelihood.
